Reggae singer Feluke is expected to return to the island on Wednesday after undergoing a month-long treatment for stage 4 colon cancer in Mexico. The singer underwent a “natural treatment” of herbs and nutrition at the Clinica CIPAG in Tijuana.
According to veteran music producer Mikey Bennett, Feluke’s health has improved greatly and he is in high spirits.
“The doctor had suggested that he did an additional two weeks of treatment which he has completed. He is in really good spirits and is expected to make full recovery soon,” said Bennett.
Bennett said medical reports have shown that the singer’s lungs have been cleared from blockage and a shrinkage in the tumour.
“He told me that this is the best that the condition of his blood has ever been. He will be coming down with medication and will return to Mexico for treatment in another three months,” he said.
Feluke, whose given name is Denver Smith, began his musical journey at the Alpha Boys’ Home after being abandoned at a bus stop. His artistic journey continued with The Ashe Company where he honed his skills to become a percussionist.
