Don Carlos

It’s been awhile since veteran reggae singer Don Carlos released any new music. His latest effort, Peace and Love, is produced by Jus Time Records. “The song is a united call for peace and love, not only in Jamaica, but across the world,” Don Carlos told the Jamaica Observer.

Peace and Love was released March 31. The song is the theme for his upcoming tour of the same name. The tour, which is scheduled to kick off in summer, is expected to cover parts of the US, Europe, and Africa.

Don Carlos, along with Duckie Simpson and Garth Dennis, were the founding members of Black Uhuru in the early 1970s. He went solo in the early 1980s and had hits including Passing Glance and Nice Time Tonight.

His solo album, Suffering, was released in 1981 on the Negus Roots label. The heavy roots and culture-flavored set was well received in Africa, where Don Carlos still tours and has a huge fan base.

Changes, his last studio effort, was released eight years ago.
