A celebrity chef known for creating a Jamaican barbeque visited the borough to open a new cookery school.
Levi Roots, the inventor of Reggae Reggae sauce, joined Mayor of Harrow Margaret Davine for the launch of Harrow Cookery School, in the Civic Center.
The school boasts state of the art appliances and utensils as well as eight cooking stations.
The aim is to provide a range of courses that range from basic cooking to street food, baking and also children’s cookery.
Venetia Baptise-Reid, the divisional director for commercial services said: “If you love great food, you’ll love our new cookery school.
“This isn’t just about training those in the food industry, and providing a fun learning experience, but it is also about supporting residents.
“As a commercially minded council, we always look at ways we can keep running our most vital services. In this instance, the money generated will help keep our Meals service running.”
