Embattled deejay Ninjaman is expected to return to the Home Circuit Court in Kingston on October 2. The entertainer, along with his son Jahneil, is charged with the March 2009 murder of Ricardo Johnson on Marl Road, Kingston.

Speaking with Splash, Ninjaman said he is extremely frustrated with the judicial system and the lengthy delay of his case.

“A bare joke ting from what me a see. The judge has been asking for a solution,” he said.

The case was transferred to a recently established special court designed to deal with cases on the books for more than five years.

“A over eight year now, and me spend three years behind bars and out a road five year now, which should a more than give them enough time to gather them evidence weh dem claim dem have,” he said.

The entertainer said the court case has placed a lid on his career as he is unable to travel. However, he uses his time to focus on his foundation, which aims at assisting a number of needy Jamaicans, including a little girl who is diagnosed with cancer.

The Ninjaman Foundation, which he recently licensed and certified, will be assisting the girl with travel expenses as she prepares to journey to the United States for treatment at the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“I will be responsible for her for the next three and a half years. I have written a letter to the US Embassy explaining that I will be taking care of her travel expenses, as she will be receiving free meds at the medical facility. But I will be taking care of her other needs,” he said.

He said his foundation is also assisting a fire victim to rebuild her home in Westmoreland.
