THE thanksgiving service for the life of singer Frankie Paul has been rescheduled for next Saturday at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Center in St Andrew.The change was confirmed by Frankie Paul’s sister, Tisha Clarke. She gave no reason for the new date.
“Yes, it’s true. The date move to next Saturday, June 17, at Ranny Williams (Entertainment Center). The burial will be at Dovecot (Memorial Park in St Catherine) same way; dat no change,” Clarke told Jamaica Observer yesterday.
The late singer’s funeral was initially scheduled for Saturday at the church located on the grounds of the Ardenne High School in St Andrew.
Frankie Paul, who had lost a leg to diabetes in 2016, died of renal failure died at the University Hospital of the West Indies in St Andrew on May 18. He was 51.
Born in 1965, Frankie Paul’s given name was Paul Blake. Blind from birth, his early life was spent at the Salvation Army School for the Blind. He had lived in the West African country of The Gambia since 1994 and returned to Jamaica late last year.
He is known for hits including Sara, Cassanova, I Know The Score, Worries In The Dance, and Pass The Kushunpeng.
