Richie Stephens has great plans for his performance on the Reggae Sumfest stage.

Billed to appear with the Ska Nation Band, the singer will showcase a set they have used to tap into a foundation stronghold in Europe.

“It’s good for Mr Joseph Bogdanovich to see what we are doing and to include it on festival. People really need to come to Reggae Sumfest to see different styles and genres of music,” said Stephens.

“The band and I are grateful to bring to yard what we tour abroad as this is where the music all started. It’s a very big deal to remind my own Jamaican people that this music that is loved across the world comes from right here. But it’s very important to me to also deliver my classics as I know fans are looking forward to them.”

Bogdanovich is chairman of Summerfest Promotions – organizers of Reggae Sumfest.

The event kicks off in Montego Bay on Sunday, July 16 with the Beach Party at Tropical Bliss Beach. The festival continues with the staple All-White Party at Pier One on Tuesday, July 18, Sumfest Blitz Retro Party on Wednesday, July 19 and the exciting Sumfest Heavyweight Clash on Thursday, July 20 at Pier-One. It climaxes at the historic Catherine Hall on Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22 with live music featuring Mavado, Tory Lanez, Queen Ifrica, Jah Cure, Sizzla and Christopher Martin among many others.
