After making a strong impression in 2016 with a riveting reggae cover of Adele’s Hello which features Mr Vegas, Ameera has delivered her debut EP, Teriyaki. The Cincinnati, born songbird whose father is from Montego Bay shows off her powerhouse vocals and island flair on all seven tracks of the EP.
Teriyaki features an eclectic offering with sultry lovers rock songs like Forever and Configuration.
The EP’s two red-hot dancehall tracks Day X Night on the sick rhythm and Wine It Up featuring Mr Vegas will no doubt find favor with dancehall fans.
The seven track EP which was produced by Holland-based producer Rekesh Dukaloo is rounded out with R&B and Pop Flavored songs such as Bolivia, Paper Baby and Good Deeds featuring Ashwin Jaydee.
“This project is a representation of all the genres of music that have inspired me. As a Jamaican-American I grew up listening to a diverse mix of music, and all of these genres are fused into my music, hence the name Teriyaki for my EP,” said Ameera.
Several music industry insiders and entertainers have given Teriyaki the thumbs up including her good friend Romain Virgo.
“This an amazing project from an amazing singer, I love all the songs. One of my favorites is Day X Night; Ameera sings this song on an old school dancehall rhythm with a modern flavor. Teriyaki is wicked,” he said.
Teriyaki was released on the 12th of May and is available on all the leading online music stores including Itunes, Amazon and Google.
Earlier this year Ameera completed a seven-show tour of the US West Coast called Alive and Revived.
Ameera is booked to perform at the Surfside Reggae Festival in Salisbury, Massachusetts July 30th.
