Dancehall artist Beenie Man and his daughter, Ashley, have teamed up for the track ‘Super Dad’. The song was produced by Frenz For Real.
The 21-year-old Ashley, who is based in Georgia, USA, was bitten by the music bug from an early age.
“Ashley has been singing before she started to talk, so this was bound to happen. As her father, I felt it was my duty to open any door and remove all barriers so she can pursue her dreams,” Beenie Man said.
“Ashley wanted to do a father- and-daughter song as her first track, so we started working on it together when she came to Jamaica in April this year. She wants to do music professionally, so listen out for more tracks from her.”
But this isn’t anything surprising, as Beenie Man said he has been working with his daughter for some time.
“I’ve been calling Ashley on to stages to perform with me since she was 10 years old, so I have always known that she would have approached the music professionally. But working with her in studio showed me that she is very focused and responds quickly to instructions. She has the talent and the dedication to carve out her own space in music. I’m very proud of her,” he said.
Ashley, who plans to get into nursing in the future, will be spending more time in Jamaica to dedicate herself to music.
