After spending the past few years establishing himself as a producer with enough range to cross genres, Jamaican producer Tarik ‘Rvssian’ Johnston has entered the big leagues, shelling out US$360,000 on a Rolls-Royce Wraith.

“Range Rover was the first big purchase, but this is another level. Exotic foreign. I chose the Wraith because it’s comfortable and exotic … and I like the stars on the roof,” Rvssian told THE STAR.

Best known for his work with the popular incarcerated dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel, Rvssian recently received his second platinum record for his production work on American rapper Kevin Gates’ solo debut album called ‘Islah’ released in January 2016.

“[It] feels good to know I have been successful and accepted in multiple genres. I take it as a great accomplishment as a Jamaican, and also as a music producer because it is out of my box as far as the genre is concerned,” Rvssian said.

‘Islah’ debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 album chart, contains 15 tracks, including charting singles ‘Really Really’ and ‘2 Phones’.

The album peaked at number two on the R & B Hip Hop album chart, and reached number one on the Rap Album chart.
