It’s only been a few weeks since PokerStars announced their sponsorship deal with the world’s fastest man Usain Bolt, but the company is already putting his image to good use.
Namely, the poker operator has announced the battle of wits between Bolt and their other big-name star Kevin Hart taking place across social media channels and culminating at the poker table during PokerStars Championship Bahamas in January 2018.
The game is on
This unique competition will see the duo match their wits on their social media pages, trending under the hashtag #GameOn. The scoring for each battle will be performed using channels’ metrics, and their fans and followers will decide who wins.
According to PokerStars marketing director Vadim Soloveychik, this will be the battle of funny vs. fast. The sports star and the famous actor have two very different personalities and different approaches to interacting with their fans, so it will be interesting to see how this one breaks down.
A rivalry of few years
These two have a bit of a history, which will make things even more interesting and intense. Back in 2013, during an NBA All-Star Celebrity match, Hart challenged Bolt to race him with the basketball from one end of the court to the other, and back.
Thanks to giving himself a couple of extra seconds at the start and the fact Bolt lost a few seconds hanging on the rim after scoring Hart actually beat the fastest man alive in a race.
Say what you will, but that’s not something many people out there can brag about, and if anyone is keeping a score card (not that anyone would), right now it is Kevin one, Bolt zero.
So, Bolt is looking to get even, while Hart will do whatever he can to stay ahead, and their fans are the ones who will get to profit the most from the competition which kicked off on Monday. Keep an eye out on the Facebook and Twitter pages of these two to check out the latest challenges and cast your votes.
