Dancehall heavyweight Mavado has added spirituality to the star-studded ‘Grateful’ album and is reaping success from it.

Mavado is currently sitting comfortably at number one on the Billboard Hot 200 Album Chart along with Sizzla Kalonji, Justin Bieber, Drake, Rihanna, Jay-Z and BeyoncÈ, on the DJ Khaled-produced Grateful album.

The producer extraordinaire, DJ Khaled, painted a word picture of Mavado’s song on the album,

“In this song, Mavado restates his unchanging love for God, like he has always done and as we can see it in other songs,” he said. Mavado shared similar sentiments on the song, Spiritual.

Unchanging Love was released online on June 23 on Record Labels Roc Nation, Epic Records and We The Best Music.

It was produced by DJ Khaled and Local Genius Troyton Music, and DJ Khaled’s son Asahd Tuck Khaled was the executive producer.

Among the telling lines of the song, Mavado sings, “I was so confused at a tender age; so caught in a world full of hate.”

The artist, given name David Brooks, said the song will definitely spark something in people.

“Ha ha! This song will definitely erect the energies in your chakras (the centers in bodies in which energy flows through, according to some eastern beliefs). Give thanks for music. Only your melanin can convert sound to light and light to sound. Forever great is the youth of the gully, nah mean,” Mavado said.
