International dancehall star Sean Paul continues to reap success for his work in 2016, with the recent announcement of his second Teen Choice Awards nomination. His collaboration – Clean Bandit’s hit single, Rockabye, (which also featured Anne-Marie), earned the artist a nomination in the category of Choice Electronic/Dance Song.

Sean Paul also nabbed a Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice Party Song with Sia’s Cheap Thrills.

Rockabye, details the hardships of single mothers, which the artiste says is a topic he is passionate about, having grown up in a single-parent home while his father served prison time. The single was released on October 21, 2016 and entered the UK Singles Chart at No. 7 after one week. The following week, it climbed to No. 3, before high performance in streaming pushed it to No. 1 in its third week. It charted platinum on most charts across the world and peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts.

The 2017 staging of Teen Choice Awards celebrates the year’s achievements in music, film, television, sports, fashion, comedy, and the Internet, and the winners are chosen by voters aged 13-19 over various social media sites.

Voting for winners in each category began on Wednesday, July 12 and will close today. Voting can be done by visiting the website at teenchoice.com to vote. Local Sean Paul fans can also vote on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook by using #ChoiceElectronicDanceSong @duttypaul.

Teen Choice Awards 2017 will take place at USC’s Galen Center on Sunday, August 13 and will air live on FOX.

The Grammy Award-winning artiste is also set to blaze the Reggae Sumfest stage at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay on Saturday, July 22.
