Dancehall artist Konshens is continuing a year of new releases with his single ‘Turn Me On’. The track was released as a follow-up to smash hit ‘Bruck Off Yuh Back’, and has already begun to make its rounds on the international and local scenes. In fact, the music video for ‘Turn Me On’, released just under a month ago, has had more than two million views on YouTube.
The music video was directed by Jay Will (Game Over), and the song was produced by TJ Records and SubKonshus Music. It features scenes from the beautiful coastal parts of Jamaica while showing off the talents of popular dancers, including Amanyea Stines and viral social media sensation Royal Gale.
To continue the buzz around the track, Konshens is currently hosting a dance competition online, where the winner will receive US$2,500 (J$320,815), the opportunity to make an appearance on his next major show and also star in his next music video.
Dancers enter by submitting a one-minute video of themselves performing to Turn Me On. He or she then post each video to his or her page and ask other users to ‘like’ their favorite, as the winner is determined by the highest number of likes. The competition ends on August 3.
In addition to a year of releases, Konshens has been staying true to his ‘take dancehall to the forefront’ mantra with a string of major show appearances. In addition to performances in the Caribbean and the US, the artist headed to Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium to perform on some of the top dancehall concerts in Europe.
