Perfect Giddimani scores his first number one on the Billboard Reggae Album chart this week with Live My Life Again, which knocks Damian Marley’s Stony Hill from the top spot.
Released on July 7, Live My Life Again has sold 1,094 copies to date.
Perfect Giddimani (given name Greg Rose) was born in Bamboo district of St Ann. He rose to prominence in 2004 with Hand Cart Bwoy.
Stony Hill, which spent three weeks at number one, debuted four weeks ago with sales of just over 6,000 copies. Now number two, it has sold a mere 9,649 copies with . sales of 797 copies in the past week.
Sizzla earns the highest-charter of his career as I’m Yours debuts at number three. Produced by Jon FX, it contains 11 songs and was released on August 11 by JonFX Music Group.
Former number one Chronology by Chronixx, which has to date sold over 3,980 copies, falls to number four while Falling Into Place by Rebelution inches down to number five. It has so far sold 38,843 copies.
At number six is another new entry, Surface, by the quintet Ellameno Beat. The Florida- based act released its latest album on August 11 with 133 copies sold.
Major Lazer’s Know No Better falls to number seven, having sold just over 3,969 copies to date. At eight is the compilation Reggae Gold 2017.
Jamaica-raised hip-hop/reggae artiste Hoodcelebrityy, who resides in the US, debuts at number nine with Trap VS Reggae. The deejay, whose real name is Tina Pinnock, had her debut album released on August 11 by KSR Group.
Rebelution’s Live at Red Rocks is at number 10, while Soca Gold 2017 is down to number 11.
J Boog’s Wash House Ting has sold 6,051 copies to date and occupies the number 12 slot. New at 13 is the compilation This is Trojan, released by Trojan Records.
Lost in Paradise by Common Kings is down to number 14 with 7,218 copies sold. At number 15 is a new entry, Here and Now, by Zack Mufasa from Kansas City.
