Selah Marley, 18, is a newly minted fashion world darling. But her father Rohan Marley doesn’t think fame will go to her head.
“Her mother [Lauryn Hill] has been in the industry for a long time, and seeing her go through it and having that education keeps her grounded,” Rohan tells The Post before the Brewer Group’s Fashion Week party at Beautique on Wednesday. “None of us [have to work] to keep her grounded. She’s a young lady, but I feel like she’s free to live and explore and travel the world.”
Rohan, whose dad was reggae artist Bob Marley, has remained amicable with Hill since the two split in 2009 and says he’s proud of Selah, who’s modeled for Kanye West’s Yeezy line, Calvin Klein and Chanel.
And when it comes to Selah’s love life, he doesn’t want to pry.
“I try to stay out of my daughters’ personal lives until they decide to share with me,” Rohan says. “I let their mother speak to them about that.”
Along with cheering on his daughter, Rohan was glad to step out this Fashion Week to support the Jack Brewer Foundation. The organization is owned by the eponymous former New York Giants player, and is currently working to provide aid to hurricane victims.
Thankfully, Rohan says his friends and family — many of whom are from the Caribbean — weren’t severely affected by Hurricane Irma.
