Dancehall deejay Ninjaman said he is elated after hearing about the progress 10-year-old cancer patient Yhordanka Graham is making. Graham is currently a patient at St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Tennessee and is being treated for lymphoma which has affected her neck, chest and stomach.

“Her body has responded greatly to the treatment and, so far, the lump in her neck has disappeared and the ones in her stomach and chest are shrinking. Only God alone could do this,” Ninjaman told Jamaica Observer yesterday.

Earlier this year, the deejay, through his Ninjaman Foundation, assisted Graham and her mother, Rose Marie Hylton, with their travel expenses to the United States for treatment at the renowned hospital, which specializes in treating children with cancer.

“Me just waan continue do good and me just a go continue to help look after her. She getting free treatment at the hospital but she ah go need other stuff. A whole heap a people deh a Jamaica waan help and me ah go play me part,” he said.

Hylton said she is grateful for the assistance and said other dancehall acts including Bounty Killer have also contributed towards her and her daughter’s travel expenses. Speaking with the Observer yesterday, Hylton said she found out about her daughter’s sickness in 2015.

“She was throwing up alot and the doctors were treating her for a sore throat. However, when the medication didn’t work they ran a few tests and we got the devastating news that she had cancer,” she said.

Hylton said she reached out to several persons for assistance, one of whom was Ninjaman.

“We are really grateful for the assistance and Yhordanka is looking forward to a healthy life. Last week was a rough week for her as she had to undergo chemotherapy, but she is a very strong girl,” Hylton added.
