The People’s National Party (PNP) has turned to crowd funding to boost donations especially from supporters outside of Jamaica.
This is a first for political parties in Jamaica which have usually turned to the traditional fundraising channels to solicit donations over the years.
However, the Opposition party says it’s now changing the way in which funds are raised for political parties in Jamaica by making greater use of technology.
It says crowd funding will allow greater participation in the party’s fortunes among supporters.
PNP President Dr Peter Phillips says crowd funding will allow the party to leverage technology to make it easier for supporters in Jamaica and in the Diaspora to make donations.
