KINGSTON, Jamaica — British singer, songwriter and actor Sting and American hip hop act Wyclef are the headliners for the 2018 staging of the biennial charity event Shaggy & Friends.
The diamond-selling reggae artist made the announcement a short while ago during a briefing to launch the event to be held on the grounds of Jamaica House in St Andrew on Saturday, January 6.
Since starting the initiative in 2009, Shaggy, through his Make A Difference Foundation, has donated more than US$US1.6 million worth of equipment to the Bustamante Hospital for Children — Jamaica’s sole paediatric hospital.
Over the years, a slew of top class local and international acts have performed at the event including, Lauryn Hill, En Vogue, Boyz II Men, Deniece Williams, Macy Grey, Ashanti, Ne-Yo, Sean Kingston, Omi, Rock City, Machel Montano, Elephant Man, Beenie Man, and Bounty Killer.
