NY: The Kingston Ghetto Productions in association with The Youth Are The Roots Foundation present the Official Raetown and Rocksteady Show on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2017. The show features reggae and rocksteady icons Ken Boothe, Horace ‘Skylarking’ Andy, Leroy ‘Heptones’ Sibbles, the Clarendonians and Keeling ‘Combination’ Beckford. They will be backed by Derrick Barnett and the Statement band.
The tri-state New York, New Jersey and Connecticut music loving community can expect a musical treat. Internationally renowned singer, Ken Boothe will deliver hits such as ‘Everything I Own’, and ‘Puppet on a String’ from his six decades catalog in superlative fashion. Boothe new ‘Inna di Yard’ CD on iTunes is making waves. Leroy Sibblis the lead singer of the legendary ‘The Heptones, will deliver Rocksteady hits like ‘Equal Right’, ‘Party Time’ ‘To the Top’ ‘I Need a Fat Girl’ ‘Why Did You Leave Me.’ Horace Andy’s timeless classic hits include “See a Man’s Face’ Skylarking, and ‘The Love of a Woman.’ Andy’s achieved international success with Trip-hop group Massive Attack.
The yuletide holidays highlight traditional Jamaican customs. On Christmas Eve there was ‘caroling. ‘Children walk from home to home singing Christmas carols. On Christmas day Jamaicans dress in their “Sunday best.” CEO and promoter Chris ‘Kingston’ Seimeon of Krystal Horizon Group D.B.A Kingston Ghetto Productions conceived the Raetown and Rocksteady Show in that tradition. His goal is for the tristate diaspora residents to relive their Jamaican holiday tradition December 24th. while giving back from The Youths Are The Roots Foundation to the less fortunate in his homeland Jamaica.
Youth are the Roots Foundation provides educational materials, computers, sporting equipments, music equipments, and food programs. Chris Kingston plans to adopt and work with The Social Development Commission (SDC) in Jamaica in support of a sporting football complex in the Franklin Town and Vineyard Town region.
Part proceedings from the Raetown and Rocksteady Show will go to the charity, The Youth Are The Roots Foundation. The charity provides resources to basic schools and primary schools and less privileged youth in Jamaica. MC’s are ‘Dubmaster’ Chris from Irie Jam radio and DJ Linkage from Linkage radio.
