The St Ann Development Company (SADCO) – a subsidiary of the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) – managed attraction introduced the first phase of its e-commerce ticketing portal in November 2017. The new user-friendly platform allows non-resident Jamaicans and visitors to purchase tickets online for up to ten people per transaction, SADCO said in a release.
The portal, which is readily accessible from any internet-enabled device, gives customers the added luxury of being processed at a special window once an ID and confirmation number is created and presented.
With the phased implementation of e-commerce through the DRFP website on the horizon, UDC General Manager Dr Damian Graham notes that the Corporation is “committed to surpassing the customer’s expectations and experience at the attraction through continuous product improvement, innovation, value added services and bold disruptive marketing initiatives.”
This latest development comes as part of efforts to strategically realign the attraction’s business model under its product diversification program, according to the release.
Earlier this year, the St Ann based attraction added the Central Garden’s facility to its offerings which saw what was once a customer parking lot being transformed into three lavish gardens equipped with waterslide and splash pad as its central features. Interspersed throughout the area as well are wood-overlaid kiosks which add a rustic aura to the space and serve as commercial outlets for DRFP branded merchandise.
According to Jomo Pitterson, manager for the facility, this has been a landmark year for the attraction which has also copped notable awards from TripAdvisor and Trip Expert.
Dunn’s River boasts an impressive waterfall cascading over 600 feet adjacent to a white-sand beach and is a double World Travel Award winner.
The park is open to the public daily from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm on cruise ship days. The entry rate for non-residents is US$20 for people aged 12 years and over, and US$12 for children ages 3-11 years. Corresponding rates for residents with supporting IDs are J$600 and J$300 respectively.
