WHILE promoter GT Taylor is pleased with the patronage of his annual Christmas Extravaganza at Luana Sports Complex in St Elizabeth on Christmas Day, he’s peeved at the un-professionalism displayed by some acts.

“It was a great turnout. This is a show that people look forward to because we always have great performances. I have a serious surprise for next year and everybody’s gonna be pleased,” he told Jamaica Observe r yesterday.

Taylor said, however, he was disappointed with Masicka and Tommy Lee Sparta, who were billed for the show and did not turn up.

“I tried calling Masicka from 12:15 am to 6:15 am and there was no answer. When I was cleaning up the park after 8:00 am, I got a text from Masicka saying he was on his way in a bus with his team and his phone was dead. My question to him is: ‘If he was the only person on the bus with a phone?’ I also want to know if he’s gonna do a public apology to his fans who came out to see him,” said Taylor.

The promoter said he is contemplating legal action to protect the show’s reputation, as Masicka received a deposit and contract.

“He (Masicka) said he had another show to perform. We discussed that, all of that was in the contract. The concert was to end at 6:00 am, but we extended it until 7:00 to facilitate him (and Tommy Lee) ’cause that would have given them more time to reach the venue. When you don’t show up or at least have the decency to answer a phone call, you are being disrespectful and trying to damage my credibility!” said Taylor.

Efforts made to reach Masicka’s management team were unsuccessful.

According to Taylor, Tommy Lee Sparta said he got lost while coming from another event, which resulted in him arriving at 7:15 am.

Other advertised acts who did not perform were Anthony Cruz, Laden and Cocoa Tea.

Taylor said Cruz was sick, Laden was late for his set, and Cocoa Tea was replaced by Richie Spice.

The show saw great performances from acts including Sanchez, Beenie Man, Half Pint, Admiral Tibet, Shenseea, and Sizzla.
