Gospel singer Jodian Pantry has taken on an ambitious project to bring peace to Clarendon through an upcoming event, ‘Jodian Pantry and Friends in Tenacity’.
“The event is really geared towards helping to combat crime by mobilizing people at one spot, with praying, worshiping and intercession on behalf of our parish, Clarendon,” she said.
The event will take place on New Year’s Day at Tiger Market in Clarendon. The festivities will begin at midday and end at midnight, with an impressive concert line-up that includes gospel artistes such as Goddy Goddy, Jermaine Edwards and Joanne Fleming. International pastor Marcus Gill has given his full endorsement for this event, and is a huge supporter of Jodian and her career.
Proceeds from the event will go towards a seven-year-old cancer patient.
Meanwhile, Pantry says she is giving her fans a treat with the release of her new single, Walk By Faith.
Released in October 2017, the track was inspired by a need to help people increase their faith in God. The gospel artiste believes that faith is needed to combat the problems faced in Jamaica, particularly poverty and crime.
“The song is very powerful, therapeutic and catchy,” she said.
The former Digicel Rising Stars finalist, who dabbled in R&B for a while, has made the decision to return to her roots and focus on gospel music.
