Beyonce, Eminem and The Weeknd have been named as the headline acts for this year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
Bob Marley’s grandson, Skip Marley, will bring a bit of reggae influence to the event, which is set to take place take place on the consecutive weekends of April 13 to 15 and April 20 to 22. It is anticipated to be the biggest show in the history of the festival with several other entertainers, including Cardi B, French Montana, Migos, Wizkid, and DeJ Loaf also booked among the long list of performers.
The Weeknd will headline on April 13 and 20, while Beyonce will headline the show on April 14 and 21. She was scheduled to headline the 2017 edition of Coachella, but postponed until this year after learning she was pregnant with twins.
Meanwhile, Eminem will headline the event on April 15 and 22.
Skip Marley, who will be reggae’s representation at the annual music festival, is set to perform on the weekend of April 13, when The Weeknd will be the main act.
The young Marley had a breakout year in 2017 when he was touted by several international magazines as the man to continue the Marley music legacy into the next generation. He made history last February when his collaboration with pop superstar Katy Perry Chained To The Rhythm peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, earning him a flood of media attention as the first from the family of reggae icons to achieve a place in the chart’s top 10.
