A Jamaican man who was reportedly on the run from New Jersey law enforcement authorities in the United States for 13 years, was captured in Kingston on Tuesday.
Forty-eight-year-old Davey Scott, a fugitive of Bergen County in New Jersey, was reportedly captured by US Marshalls.
According to a report from acting Bergen County Prosecutor, Dennis Calo, Scott has been living and working as a disc jockey under the name ‘DJ Tallman’.
Scott was listed in the Bergen County database as a Most Wanted accused drug dealer, who they said tried to run over a police detective.
Detectives from Calo’s office, along with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and the US Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force, had been searching for Scott since he skipped bail in January 2004.
New Jersey law enforcement authorities say Scott was living in East Orange when he sold more than 25 pounds of marijuana to an undercover detective in Franklin Lakes.
As officers reportedly moved in, Scott hit the accelerator of his car, striking a county detective.
He was ultimately arrested on drug charges, as well as aggravated assault on a police officer and hindering apprehension.
It’s reported that Scott fled after posting bail.
In 2007, he was added to the Bergen County Sheriff’s ‘Most Wanted’ list.
