Entertainer Wayne Marshall has urged teens to practice responsible use of the Internet. The artiste, who attended the FLOW Safer Internet Day youth seminar at the Merl Grove High School on Tuesday, said “negative comments and trolling online can be very harmful, especially to our youngsters”.
Marshall, who collaborated with Bugle to deliver the single Social Media, joined a slate of local ‘social media influencers’ and technical experts who zoned in on cyber security, online reputation management, threats to personal safety and the disturbing trend of cyber bullying among Jamaican youth.
“A lot of us have smartphones, but we are not really smart with how we use it,” said Marshall.
February 6 was celebrated globally as Safer Internet Day under the theme ‘Create, Connect and Share Respect; A Better Internet Starts with You’.
