UK booking agency Punch Touring said it will be pulling out all the stops for Romain Virgo’s Love Sick Tour scheduled for April 4-8.
The gig will see the singer opening in Birmingham and putting the lid on the series in London. Other stops include Manchester (April 5), Leeds (April 6) and Cardiff (April 7). Accompanying Virgo on the trek is fast-rising reggae singer Sevana.
Ammo Talwar, CEO of Punch Touring, has high hopes for Virgo’s first major outing.
“This is guaranteed to be a prestige tour. Both Romain and Sevana will be performing with full bands and bringing a particular style of music for their fans,” he said,
Virgo will be promoting his new 17-track Love Sick album, due for release March 30 by VP Records.
Talwar said his 10-year-old agency has worked with several reggae acts.
“We have worked with a lot of reggae and soul artistes over the past few years, including Tarrus Riley, Julian Marley, Kabaka Pyramid, Jesse Royal, and artistes such as Angie Stone, Amerie and Janet Kaye, among others,” said Talwar.
The CEO spoke to emerging trends by dancehall artistes.
“Reggae artistes in the UK are always developing new audiences, especially with the online and streaming support, whilst touring in the regions and obviously London is healthy. Dancehall artistes are also making major moves into mainstream festivals, creating new pathways for emerging artistes to follow,” Talwar added.
Punch Touring has offices based in Birmingham and London.
