KINGSTON, Jamaica —

A preliminary report from the Earthquake Unit has confirmed that an earthquake was felt across some sections of the island..

According to the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) on its social media pages, the quake was a Magnitude 4.0 at a depth of 8.7 Km with its epicentre 10 Km south of St Margaret’s Bay in Portland.

The ODPEM said that so far it has not received reports of damage, but it will continue to monitor the situation along with the Earthquake Unit.
