Adahzeh —

Female band Adahzeh is one of the featured acts on this year’s South by Southwest Music Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, which began yesterday and culminates on March 18.

“Our fans can expect a high-energy performance that will go down in the books as one of our best performance thus far. We have matured and we now have more experience, so that will be displayed in our performances,” said Karissa Palmer, band leader.

The group is set to take the stage March 13 and March 15, at the Flamingo Cantina. Local fans can follow the action via their Instagram and Facebook live streaming.

In addition to Palmer (keyboards), the quartet comprises Tashana Barnett (drums), Chevanse Palmer (bass), and Tara Williamson (lead singer and guitar).

Other acts slated for the event include Solange Knowles, Lil Yatchy, Migos, Rae Sremmurd, The Chainsmokers and The Roots.

Started in 1986, the SXSW is a global music industry event, where a curated mix of artistes showcase their talent. Not limited to any particular genre or regional focus, audiences can enjoy a variety of musical styles. Last year the event drew an affluent audience, including movers and shakers across several industries.

Winning the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association’s Breakthrough Artiste of Year Award for 2017, Adahzeh has performed on Reggae Sumfest, A St Mary Me Come From, and Rebel Salute. They were also distinguished performers at the Prime Minister Youth Awards for Excellence 2017.
