Singer Freddie McGregor and Etana are scheduled to headline this year’s Jammin’ on the Lawns — An Evening of Excellence, at the Shortwood Teachers’ College Cherry Gardens campus in St Andrew on April 14.
Showtime is 7:00 pm.
Vice-Principal, Administrative Affairs Dr Claudette Barrett March said the projected proceeds will be used primarily to upgrade the institution’s halls of residence and meeting some expenses of students in need.
“Our priority is to make the students as comfortable as we can, so the aim is to improve the quality of student accommodations on campus,” she told the Jamaica Observer.
The institution will mark 123 years of existence in September of this year and the presentation is the college’s third in as many years.
According to Barrett March, patrons should expect to be rocked by McGregor who is known for hit songs including Big Ship, Push Come To Shove, and Just Don’t Want To Be Lonely.
Etana, who will be back in the island from her Reggae Forever tour, is known for hits including Wrong Address, I’m Not Afraid and I Rise.
