MANCHESTER, Jamaica —
The Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA) is currently conducting investigations following the discovery last week of a machine which is capable of manufacturing firearms.
According to news reports, the machine which was found on a property in Manchester was brought into the island without a permit from the FLA.
It is further reported that that the machine was found while the FLA was conducting an investigation into a high volume of requests from eight individuals in Manchester for permits to purchase a large quantity of ammunition.
The requests, which were made last month, were for a total of 100,000 rounds.
Additionally, the property where the gun making machine was found belongs to one of the individuals who the FLA was investigating.
