Tarrus Riley —

Reggae singer Tarrus Riley will headline this year’s staging of Reggae in the Park, one of the key entertainment events at Antigua Sailing Week on May 1.

The organizers are expecting a huge turnout for the ninth edition of Reggae in the Park when sailors and reggae lovers come to the historic, Nelson’s Dockyard in that country’s capital.

Antigua Sailing Week Events Manager Rana Lewis said: “I’m very pleased with the steady growth of Reggae in the Park as a brand, having been able to secure some of the best global reggae artistes. Our team is continuously looking for ways to bring our visiting guests and our local audiences a memorable entertainment experience. This contemporary reggae artiste, Tarrus Riley, with his positive and uplifting lyrics, encompasses the togetherness we want to see in the park on the night of the show at Nelson’s Dockyard.”

Lewis adds that the show will also feature two of Antigua’s most popular bands.

“We are delighted that the extremely popular Spirited Band, featuring cricketing legend Curtly Ambrose and The Strays, will complete the evening’s line-up. It promises to be a memorable show,” she said.

Started in 2010, Antigua Sailing Week’s Reggae in the Park has over the years, drawn crowds 4,000 strong. It has featured reggae performers including Third World, Maxi Priest, Shaggy, and Damian Marley.
