Popular entertainer Tommy Lee Sparta was taken into custody early Sunday morning, after leaving the final of the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall.
His attorney Ernie Emith told media that the artiste was taken in for questioning as it relates to organised crime in St James. Tommy Lee hails from Montego Bay.
Media reports are that after leaving the show, which was held on Courtney Walsh Drive, Tommy Lee stopped at an ATM in upper St Andrew.
After exiting the booth, he was nabbed by the police and taken to the Half-Way Tree Police Station.
The artiste is expected to be questioned later this week.
The artiste, whose given name is Leroy Russell, has a history of run-ins with the law.
Last year, Tommy Lee was wanted by the Montego Bay cops for questioning in relation to ongoing violence in sections of the city.
In the summer of 2016, detectives in the Kingston Eastern division also listed him as a person of interest in relation to a shooting on Saunders Avenue.
