KINGSTON, Jamaica —

 

An American Airlines aircraft which was en route from Miami to Colombia was forced to make an emergency landing at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston (NMIA) this afternoon.

It has been reported that shortly after midday passengers saw smoke coming from the plane and a decision was made to land so that the source of the smoke could be identified.

OBSERVER ONLINE understands that the aircraft landed safely in Jamaica where an investigation was done and the passengers disembarked.
