The Constant Spring police are currently investigating a shooting incident involving dancehall entertainer Mavado.
According to information obtained from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit, an altercation developed between Mavado and another man, while the entertainer was in Cassava Piece, St Andrew, at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
THE STAR understands that the man with whom the deejay was arguing left the scene and later returned with a firearm and opened fire at the entertainer.
It is said that the vehicle Mavado was driving was also shot at.
Mavado, whose birth name is David Brooks, was not injured in the incident, but the matter was reported to the Constant Spring police. The alleged shooter was subsequently taken into police custody. No charges have been laid as yet and investigations are ongoing.
The Constant Spring police reported three murders in the area on Saturday night. At this time, it is unclear if those murders are related to the shooting incident involving the deejay.
