Dancehall artiste Harry Toddler is seeking financial assistance for his teenage daughter, Iceices Jackson, who is scheduled a undergo heart surgery on July 16, at Boston Children Hospital in the United States.
Speaking with THE STAR yesterday, the entertainer said that he is appealing to everyone, local and abroad, to contribute towards the cause as his daughter’s life and future depends on it.
“Please help my child, Government and everyone; Entertainers here and abroad, I am asking for a donation. We really need to get her heart operating fully. She is a brilliant child. Please just donate whatever you can,” he said.
Toddler noted that despite having a heart condition, Jackson lives an active life. However, he said her condition took a turn for the worst recently.
He said that at least $US20,000 (J$2,650,592) is urgently needed to cover the cost of the operation as well as travel and accommodation expenses.
GOTTEN WORSE
“We knew she have a heart condition from she was about four years old, but we thought she would grow it out. She is an athlete, and she also takes part in cheerleading and dancing, but, after these activities, her heart would flutter a lot. Her condition has gotten worse,” he said.
The distraught entertainer said that his daughter, who lives in Bermuda, is a big fan of dancehall music and would always spend the summer holidays in Jamaica with him.
“She loves reggae and dancehall so each July she would travel to Jamaica to spend it with me, but this year, it won’t be possible. I love this kid very much, and I just want the best for her. Yesterday (Sunday), I had a really terrible day because on every Father’s Day she would call. She did call and tell me happy Father’s Day, but to know of the condition she is in make me feel really bad. It is really depressing,” he said.
The deejay stated that he is at one of his weakest points and is asking for divine intervention as well as prayers from well wishers.
“I am also appealing to the church to just keep me and my daughter in their prayers. We really need it, especially now. It’s my little girl that we are talking about, we need your help,” he said.
