VETERAN singer Tony Gregory will be among several performers slated to take the stage at the Independence edition of Jazz N Cabaret in the Gardens at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in St Andrew on Sunday.

Gregory, 72, will be making his third appearance on the series. He said, however, this one performance would be one of a milestone.

“I have been in the music business professionally for over 60 years, and this (Jazz in the Gardens) is a nice way for me to celebrate,” Gregory told the Jamaica Observer.

He is known for hits including I’m Gonna Break You Down, Trouble In Me and Gypsy Girl.

Ken Nelson, event promoter/coordinator, has high expectations for the Independence edition of Jazz N Cabaret.

“This will be a very special presentation of this season’s Jazz in the Gardens as Jamaicans at home and those abroard who are here, as well other visitors, can come out and enjoy the celebration,”told the Jamaica Observer.

Other acts include Nexus Performing Arts Company, Nicky OJ, Nina Karle, Harold Davis and Orchestra, Ozou’ne and Pon Fyah Band, and Ricardo Suave.

This is Suave’s debut on the series.

“This opportunity to perform on this special Independence staging of Jazz in the Gardens means so much to me. I am going to make the time allotted to me so precious for the audience, they not going want to see it end,” he said.
