International recording artiste Gyptian will be releasing his first album in the post-VP Records era of his career under his own Ryte Dyrekshan label.
“The album will drop at the end of this year, a Ryte Dyrekshan project, mostly in-house production, with producers such as Ricky Blaze, Yardstyle, Nuffa Dat, Silver Bird and UIM. Some of the singles are already released, but some will be exclusive to the project,” Gyptian said.
The entertainer’s contract with VP Records expired last year and was not renewed.
Known for a string of international hits such as the Billboard-charting Hold Yuh, the artiste’s album is highly anticipated by his legion of fans.
“The fans have been making repeated requests via social media about the album, so we know it is well anticipated,” Gyptian said.
Some of the previously released singles that will be on the album include Look Good, produced by Ricky Blaze; Picture, a collaboration with Samantha J and produced by Silver Bird Production label; and Can’t Leave You Alone on the Ryte Dyrekshan label, released at the end of July. One of the exclusive singles will be a collaboration with international recording star Sean Paul, which will be released on the Dutty Rock Production label.
Meanwhile, Gyptian will head to Europe next week for a string of performances across three countries.
“We will be going on a European tour next week, where we will do shows in Sweden, Belgium and Netherlands,” said Gyptian, who performed at Summer Sizzle last Saturday.
“I had a great time performing, it was a really good vibes, and it was nice to give my support to Beenie Man and the people of Clarendon. It had been a long time since I had performed in Jamaica.”
It was a rare performance on Jamaican soil for Gyptian, only his third performance during the last eight years.
