The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) says it today seized 16 firearms at the Kingston port, following the seizure of 10 firearms and approximately 640 rounds of ammunition at the location yesterday Tuesday, October 3.

Reports are that the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch, the JCF’s Narcotics Division and Jamaica Custom’s Contraband Enforcement Team, conducted secondary operations today at the container terminal where they discovered an additional sixteen 9mm pistols, 16 magazines and one 9mm round of ammunition.

The operations, which began yesterday morning, have so far led to the seizure total of 26 firearms, 641 rounds of ammunition, multiple magazines and a silencer in 24 hours, the police reported.

Two women and two men were arrested in connection with yesterday’s seizure.
