Veteran reggae singer Beres Hammond has revealed that he has never received a royalty check from a producer.
The lover’s rock guru was promoting his newly released album “Never Ending” when he made the shocking revelation.
Beres Hammond whose career began in the 1970’s has worked with a slew of producers such as Willie Lindo, Joe Gibbs, and Donovan Germain.
He formed his record label, Harmony Records in 1985; before he signed with Penthouse Records in 1990 where he recorded the dancehall hit “Tempted to Touch”with producer Donovan Germain.
However, when Music News contacted Donovan Germain to further investigate Beres Hammond’s claims that he has never received a royalty statement from a producer, he said: “no comment.” Meanwhile, efforts to contact Willie Lindo were futile.
Beres Hammond who is currently promoting his 14-track album “Never Ending” is slated to perform in New York City later this evening.
