Kadijah Robinson, who is a physical therapist attached to the Black River Hospital in St Elizabeth sailed through the rounds and emerged in fourth place from a total of 118 contestants and claim the title Miss World Caribbean.

Miss Jamaica was front and center during the opening number, Dances of the World, where she lead a number of her other Caribbean contestants through the Dances of the World segment, showcasing a number of popular dance moves, including Fling Yuh Shoulder and Flairy.

For her final question, Miss Jamaica was asked what is the greatest difficulty that she had to overcome. She noted that it was building her confidence level.

“The greatest obstacle that I have had to overcome is that of self-confidence and I’m happy that I did as I am here tonight standing in front of you in pure joy and humility. When I was younger I always doubted myself and I always doubted my capabilities. It took me a lot of time to overcome this. I know it takes a lot of communication with self, a lot of thought and its a long process, but I was able to do it. To whoever is listening tonight… I implore you to find yourself and find your niche, it will be the most awesome feeling ever,” she told a packed arena in Sanya, China yesterday.

Co-franchise holder for the local pageant Weston Haughton was excited with Robinson’s performance on the Miss World stage.

“We are so happy with this result. Kadijah displayed such comfort and ease from the moment she landed. That is something we always encourage. We want our queens to be themselves and enjoy the pageant. on stage she looked absolutely stunning and did us all proud,” said Haughton.
