Rebelution —
California reggae band Rebelution tops the Billboard Reggae Album Chart for the ninth time with their latest effort, Rebelution: Vinyl Box Set . It debuts this week with 274 copies sold.
Rebelution first topped the chart with 2009’s Bright Side of Life. Its other chart-toppers include Peace of Mind, Count Me In and the Grammy-nominated Falling Into Place.
They also hold the number two spot with their 2018 release, Free Rein, another former number one. It moved 119 copies over the past week to bring its tally to 19,467.
Free Rein was the second best-selling reggae album for 2018.
Last week’s number one, 44/876 by Sting and Shaggy, falls to number three with total sales of 52,018.
Dipping one place to number four is Everyday Life, Everyday People by Slightly Stoopid, which sold 71 copies to bring its haul to 14,932.
Once again, the sole female in the Top 10 is Vanessa Bling. Her Still Standing EP holds steady with 45 copies for to-date figures of 1,015.
Slipping two places to number seven is the self-titled set from Iration, which has so far sold 9,289 copies.
Junior Thomas and The Volcanos re-enter the chart at number eight with Rockstone with 36 copies. To date it has sold 1,063.
Popcaan is also back in the Top 10 with Forever, coming in at number nine from number 18, with an additional 34 copies. Since its release last July, Forever has sold 3,088 copies.
Producer Linton “TJ” White is back in the Top 10 for the first time since 2016 when Vybz Kartel’s King of the Dancehall peaked at number two. White’s Toco Loco compilation moves from number 25 to number 10 with sales of 330 copies.
Toco Loco features songs by Machel Montano, Charly Black, Kes, Demarco, Konshens and Patrice Roberts.
