Denroy Morgan —
Veteran reggae singer Denroy Morgan is joining forces with African reggae singers for his latest EP Missing You.
“These young men are my sons of the outer circle, the children of the outer circle, my spirit family, and they are incredibly talented — and I have the blueprint to introduce them to the world,” he told Jamaica Observer.
Available for pre-order on March 29, Missing You EP will be available on all digital platforms on April 6.
In addition to the title track of the same name, the five-track Missing You EP will feature songs including God is in Man, Rapture, and Super G Man.
African artistes include Nyasha David (Zimbabwe), Latitude (South Africa), Vagavybz (Rwanda), Q-Nel (Ghana), and Bravoo (Kenya).
Morgan has 30 children and is patriarch of the Morgan clan, which includes the LMS and Grammy-winning group Morgan Heritage. The latter took the 2015 Best Reggae Album Grammy Award for Strictly Roots.
Morgan rose to superstar status in the 1980’s with I’ll Do Anything For You and Make My Day.
Morgan is confident he can do it again.
“We have a moral imperative to create that light of change, that truth to expose that indelible mark of lies that has captivated the minds of people and put us in an ignorant state of mind of our black selves. Only Rasta can liberate the people,” he said.
Morgan is a bishop in the Abrahamic Covenant Family Ministry, an arm of the Ethiopian Orthodox Coptic Church of North and South America, and the International Gospel Helpers Church. He is also a member of the Twelve Tribes of Israel and the American Clergy Leadership Conference, with a Nyahbinghi Vibration and Bobo Shanti tradition.
His last album, Muzical Unity, was released in 2017 on Asaph Records/ VPAL Music.
