Queens, NY: He is the biggest and most accomplished artist to have been booked to grace the stage at Groovin In The Park in its 9 year history. He will join lovers rock King Beres Hammond and BBC radio broadcaster Sir David Rodigan as performers at the festival that unfolds on Sunday, June 30 at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, NY. His name is Michael Bolton, a multi-Grammy award-winning, international superstar who has sold more than 53 million albums and singles worldwide.
Bolton began his iconic career at age 16. He took home his first Grammy eighteen years later for ‘Best Pop Vocal Performance Make’ for the single ‘How Am I Suppose To Love You.’ That year he made his debut on the Grammy stage performing the song with Kenny G. Bolton’s powerful vocals have since graced some of the the biggest songs and albums of our time including ‘Soul Provider,’ which sold more than 12.5 million copies world-wide. The disc showcased several chart-toppers including the #1 hit single ‘How Am I Supposed to Live Without You,’ which earned him a Grammy Award.
His most recent disc aptly titled ‘A Symphony of Hits’ chronicles his 50 year legacy in the music industry. The disc was recorded in Australia with the West Australian Full Harmonic Orchestra. In recognition of his artistic accomplishments, Michael has won two Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards and a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As a songwriter, he has earned over 24 BMI & ASCAP Awards, including ‘Songwriter of the Year,’ ‘9 Million-Air awards,’ and the ‘Hitmakers Award’ from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
This is Beres’ 3rd time being booked for Groovin In The Park. He is ripe for another stellar set so fans can fasten their seat belts and prepare to ‘Rock Away’ with some sweet, soulful, reggae music.
