The management team of entertainer Tarrus Riley is advising his fans and the fans of Reggae Sumfest that he will not be performing at this year’s staging.

A press release sent to Music News reads, “We regrettably announce that Tarrus Riley will not be at Reggae Sumfest 2019, due to failure of the festival honoring their obligations as agreed upon by both parties.

We want to it make clear that this has nothing to do with money, but everything to do with honouring and upholding an agreement, which plays a vital role in elevating Jamaican music and a brand after so many years of hard work.”

It continues, “This decision is one that we feel is necessary and is in honor of our fans who have supported Singy Singy aka Tarrus Riley over the years.”

Meanwhile, when Music News contacted Downsound Records CEO and Reggae Sumfest organizer, Josef Bogdanovich he said he was unable to speak as he was in a meeting.”

Tarrus Riley was expected to share the stage with the likes of the Gargamel, Buju Banton, Beres Hammond, Protoge, Jah9, X-Factor winner Dalton Harris, and Christopher Martin on Saturday, July 20.

Dubbed Jamaica’s Premiere Reggae Festival, the 27th staging is set to run from July 14 – 20.

Night 1, Friday, July 19 will feature the likes of Spragga Benz, Elephant Man, Chronixx, Dexta Daps, Spice, Govanna, Munga and Shauna Chin.

Reggae Sumfest will be held at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay.
