PRODUCER Gary Sutherland is pleased with the reception to his various artistes compilation album Jumpout Production Presents: One Drop Mystic Riddim Vol 1 since its release in August.
Sutherland said the 11-song set took six months to complete.
“The reception has been overwhelming and we are happy that persons have been giving the songs the support,” he said.
The New York-based producer is the brother of singer Nadine Sutherland. His previous rhythms include the Swirling, Hot Love, Kill A Vibe and Matrixx.
Some of the songs on the Mystic are Everybody Knows by Pinchers, A Life Without You by Ed Robinson, Bad Mood by Mikey Melody, Love Me or Just Leave Me by Derrick Parker and One Shot by Chyna Nicole.
Musicians Noel Alphonso and Mark Lawrence played on the beat.
He spoke about the decision to take a different direction on his latest venture.
“The inspiration came about because I wanted to change the pace of my production catalog. I thought about bringing down the tempo of music. I also thought about Bob Marley’s song Natural Mystic which is also on a One Drop reggae beat,” he said.
Jumpout Productions Presents One Drop Mystic Riddim Vol 1 debuted 86 on the US iTunes Top 100 reggae albums.
