Singer/guitarist EVER-G says in the 20 years he has been recording, a universal message has guided his songs — peace, love and unity.

He used that formula on The Truth, his seventh and latest album which was actually released in 2017. Upfull Woman, a single from the set, was recently released along with a video that salutes the virtuous female.

“The album has 14 tracks that represent a wide array of topics. There’s something on it that everyone can relate to,” said the Virginia-based artist.

Self-produced for his EVER-G Music, The Truth is distributed by VPAL Music, an affiliate of VP Records. EVER-G wrote all songs which he says have gotten enthusiastic play by West Indian radio stations in the Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia radius.

“Wi promote it big time, I’ve been playing this region for so many years an’ that has helped me to get the music across,” he said.

Born Everett Street, EVER-G was raised in Hanover, a rural parish located 160 miles west of Kingston, Jamaica’s capital. It was there that he discovered the music of Bob Marley and Burning Spear in the early 1970’s and learned to play rhythm guitar.

Migrating to the United States in 1984, he settled in the Washington DC/Maryland area and played in bands like Unconquered People and DKBG, which backed acts such as Red Dragon, Sanchez, Leroy Sibbles and The Itals whenever they performed in the region.

Weary of playing in bands and singing cover songs, he officially launched his recording career in 1999. That year, his first album World Peace, was released.

“I had to get my voice out there as EVER-G, so I started writing. That’s how it has been to this day,” EVER-G stated.
