Hopeton Lindo and Fiona—

Singer/songwriter Hopeton Lindo maintains his busy recording routine with In Your Eyes, a duet with Fiona. It is done on the Pocket Book rhythm, co-produced by Sly and Robbie and Rory Baker of One Pop Productions.

In the last 18 months, Lindo has enjoyed success with songs like Hard Ears and Let’s Party. Lindo, who wrote In Your Eyes, is the composer of dancehall jams such as J C Lodge’s Telephone Love, Champion Lover by Deborahe Glasgow, and Red Rose For Gregory by Gregory Isaacs. Based in South Florida, he said he never tires of writing.

“For me, writing great songs are inspirations and blessings — no formula. There are many great songs that are not hit songs. My career is still unfolding and there’s a lot more to come,” Lindo told the Jamaica Observer.

Released in September, Pocket Book features Sly and Robbie on drum and bass; saxophonist Dean Fraser; and the Firehouse Crew’s Paul “Wrong Move” Crossdale who played piano and guitar. Bunny Brown, the former Chosen Few singer, and Cherine, also have songs on the Pocket Book rhythm.
