One Harmony Music releases Stephen Souza’s brand new EP, My Love Is True, The first singles from the EP “Close” and “Friends & Lovers” are already storming charts internationally, and are also featured on One Harmony Music Presents Volume 3. One of the finest voices to emerge in the Lover’s Rock genre is that of Stephen Souza. It was Veteran Broadcaster Ken Williams formerly of WVIP Radio 93.5FM New York who first referred to New York based Reggae Singer Stepehen Souza as `The Reggae Gentleman’. Born in England, Stephen grew up in Manchester Jamaica, and started his musical career as the lead singer of the Manchester High School Band “Phase II” rocking concerts all over Central Jamaica and the North Coast. Reporters highlighted his performances in articles in the Jamaica Daily News, Star and The Gleaner. Stephen migrated to the United States and quickly emerged into the New York Dancehall scene as a featured singer on numerous Sound Systems such as Downbeat The Ruler, Papa Moke. Roundtown, and Genesis Sound to name a few. As his popularity grew Stephen was soon in the studio recording for top Record Producers, such as Basil Marshal (RCA Records), George Golding (Third World), Sydney Mills (Steel Pulse), Errol “Willo” Wilson (Virquarian Music/VP Records), The Late, Phillip Smart (HC&F Studio), Earl Moodie (Moodies Records), Junior Baugh (Ruff Stuff Studio), and The Late, Lloyd Campbell (Joe Frazier/VP Records). His CD’s If You Were Mine, Revisted, and The Reggae Gentleman featured hits such as “Say Yes”, “If You Were Mine”, “Treat Her Like A Lady”, “Silhouette”, “Sounds Explosion”, “Sensi Smoker”, and “Starting Over (We’re Gonna Make It)”. Diligently establishing himself as one of the top Lover’s Rock artists, Stephen Soua is also featured on numerous compilation CD’s namely, Sweet Love Volume 2, One Harmony Music Presents Volume 1 & Volume 3, Tribute To Channel One Volume One, Riddim Train Volume Three & Five, The Bandwagon Riddim, Jah Kingdom Riddim and One Harmony Music Present’s The Classic Lovers Riddim. An Accomplished song writer Stephen Souza penned “Tell Me You’re Not Leaving”, for Erika Newell of Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers and co-wrote Dobby Dobson & Rula Brown’s hit “Seems To Me I’m Winning (Remix). Stephen Souza also scored hit collaborations with International Songstress Pam Hall “Save The Last Dance For Me”, and “Best Of Me” the late great Frankie Paul. Stephen has performed at most of the Tri-state’s popular nightspots and Reggae Festivals with such greats as Beres Hammond, Wayne Wonder, Tarrus Riley, Mr Vegas, Beenie Man, Baby Cham, Elephant Man, and Sean Paul to name a few. Stephen has also performed the Jamaica National Anthem by special request twice for the Prime Minister Andrew Holness. Stephen is now managed by Rocket Entertainment led by Princess Zambia. His latest CD Symphony produced by Samuel “Musical Genius” Dyett for One Harmony Music features the hit singles “Falling In Love Again” “How To Love A Strong Woman” and “It’s Working”. Stephen Souza also makes his movie debut as a featured actor in the hit movie “M.A.D.E IN NEW YORK A Jamaica Movie”, which also features his track “I Marry My Friend”. |
