With love in the air, singers Hopeton Lindo and Fiona release Guilty, a cover of the 1980 Barbra Streisand/Barry Gibb hit song. Lindo produced the single for his Irie Pen Records.
Guilty is released on Valentine’s Day.
It is a follow-up to their song In Your Eyes which topped the Foundation Radio Network Chart in December. That song is also produced by Lindo, who said he has toyed with the idea of covering Guilty for some time.
“I’ve been thinking about doing a reggae cover of Guilty for about two years now but did not want to rush it. Fiona is an awesome singer and with the success of In Your Eyes she was my choice, plus our voices complement each other,” he said.
Guilty is from Streisand’s monster-selling album of the same. Both were produced by Gibb, a member of platinum-selling group, The Bee Gees.
The reggae version maintains a steady release schedule for Lindo, who has had success as a singer and composer in a 35-year career. He said Guilty is a sign of things to come in 2020.
“The plan is to keep working consistently and confidently, walking by faith and not by sight. My Iriepen label production of the Feel It Riddim various artists album and other projects are on the horizon. Looking forward to a busy and productive year with the blessings of the Almighty.”
