A police officer processing the scene of the fatal accident involving a bicycle and a Toyota Hiace bus.
A pedal cyclist and his pillion rider were killed in a traffic accident along the Sir Florizel Glasspole Highway in east Kingston on Friday morning.
The deceased have been identified as singer Ideology, real name David Jackson, 35, and 55-year-old Carmen McLean, both from Kingston 17 addresses.
Reports are that about 8 am, Jackson and McLean were on a bicycle heading toward Harbour View when it collided with a Toyota Hiace bus travelling in the same direction.
The impact flung Jackson and McLean off the bicycle onto the ground. They reportedly suffered multiple injuries and died on the spot.
The driver of the Hiace bus, which overturned in the incident, reportedly suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. Ideology’s hit song “Pumpkin Belly” is currently No.2 on the Foundation Radio Network Top 30 Chart, and No.4 on the South Florida Reggae Chat
The police were still processing the scene at the time of this publication.
